 Lenny Hodgson |
Lenny was raised in the small Minnesota Iron Range town of Calumet. He got started fishing with his father and grandfather. Lenny remembers fishing off of the dock at his grandpa's cabin and frequently falling in. Lenny received his teaching degree at Bemidji State and his Masters at St. Cloud State University. Lenny moved to the Brainerd Lakes area in 1970 and taught Math and Science in the Brainerd Public schools for 34 years. Lenny enjoys sharing about the time that he caught a padlock with a key in it on Gull Lake. His hook was through the hole in the top of the key. It was a pretty amazing catch. Lenny began guiding in 1972 and started with the Nisswa guides league in 1974. His favorite species to fish are Bass, Walleye, and Muskie. He especially likes fishing with families. Lenny says "kids are fun to fish with because they get so excited about almost anything." Lenny has been married 35 years to wife, Sally. She is his favorite fishing partner even though she usually out fishes him. They have one daughter who is married and has two little girls. Lenny and his family do lots of outdoor activities like fishing, hunting, and roasting hot dogs. The family dog, Willie, is Lenny's hunting partner. |
